A creative block is spreading too…
Well, I have a creative block right now. I guess its time to binge some old anime… With this virus bringing everything to screeching halt, you’d think it would bring the creative types out of the woodworks. Sadly, a lot of other writers and artists I talk to have hit some serious creative blocks. This strikes a chord with me, as creative blocks have spreading. They’ve been more and more frequent for me, too.
How does one pull themselves out of the creative pit? It can be difficult depending on what’s going on in your life. For everyone, the looming threat of financial security and social distancing can be seriously draining. Finding new inspiration during these times is the answer, and a creative block often feeds on anxiety. I’ve been burying myself in the Animal Crossing while chapter 29 just sits there.
However, I can’t just give in. We content creators thrive on imagining things as they aren’t. We craft a world that isn’t necessarily perfect of happy, but where the real world’s issues can fade just a little. I’m still working during these times, and it’s getter harder every day for everyone at the job. My drawing time is slipping away, and I need to escape. Creativity is all about escapism. A dream world that lives on, even when you have to wake up.
